THE WOMAN. THE MUSIC. THE STORY.
alana la rose
THE BEGINNING
Long before there was Alana La Rose, there was a young girl discovering the power of her voice in church.
Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Alana grew up watching her grandmother and mother sing in the church choir. Inspired by the women before her, she eventually joined the choir herself and led her first song at just 12 years old.
Gospel became the foundation of her voice, teaching her early that singing was about more than hitting the right notes, it was about making people feel something.
THEN LIFE HAPPENED
Music continued to follow Alana throughout her youth. Her father once attempted to form a girl group that Alana was a part of, an experience that eventually led to an opportunity to sing for music executive Mathew Knowles. In the 10th grade, she was also selected for a solo from among approximately 500 students.
She continued singing in church and writing songs privately, but as adulthood arrived, her focus shifted. Music was placed to the side as she concentrated on building a life, a career, and the stability she wanted for herself.
But the music never really left.
NOW, SHE HAS SOMETHING TO SAY.
Now, Alana returns to music with something she couldn't have possessed in those earlier years: the perspective of a woman who has lived.
Influenced by powerhouse voices and masterful storytellers including Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Toni Braxton, Monica, Jazmine Sullivan, Musiq Soulchild, and H.E.R., Alana describes her own voice as warm, powerful, and distinctly soulful.
Her Memphis upbringing and gospel foundation remain present in her delivery, particularly in the emotion she brings to a lyric.
As a songwriter, Alana draws from both her own experiences and the lives she has witnessed around her. Her songs explore love, marriage, intimacy, desire, heartbreak, faith, self-worth, healing, and the courage it takes to begin again.
SOFTNESS + STRENGTH. BEAUTY + DEFENSE.
VULNERABILITY + RESILIENCE.
WHY “LA ROSE”
Alana is her middle name.
La Rose was born from her love of roses, not simply for their beauty or fragrance, but for what they represent.
A rose begins unassuming before gradually unfolding into something beautiful. And even something so delicate grows thorns, its own form of protection and survival.
For Alana, there is something deeply human in that contradiction.
Like a rose, a woman can carry softness and strength at the same time.
PARTS OF ME
That duality lives at the heart of Alana's debut EP, Parts of Me.
The project is exactly what its title suggests: a collection of experiences, emotions, lessons, desires, and pieces of the woman behind the music.
Each song reveals another layer, not the entirety of Alana La Rose, but a glimpse into the experiences that have shaped her.
THE WOMAN BEHIND ALANA
Away from the microphone, Alana is a wife, mother and stepmother, daughter, sister, aunt, entrepreneur, creative, woman of faith, and—as those closest to her know—a woman who can be just as goofy as she is glamorous.
She is romantic and spiritual, often reserved, deeply connected to family, and grounded in the life she has built outside of music.
That life is precisely why the timing feels right.
Alana isn't pursuing music now because she believes she has something to prove.
She's pursuing it because she finally feels she has something to give.
She has stories now. Perspective. Maturity. Experiences worth turning into songs. And an understanding of herself that could only come with time.
Through her music, Alana hopes listeners don't simply hear her experiences—they recognize pieces of their own.
Especially for women navigating love, relationships, healing, self-worth, faith, intimacy, and becoming, her hope is that a song can meet someone exactly where she is and remind her that she isn't alone.
THIS IS ALANA LA ROSE
AND SHE’S FINALLY READY TO BLOOM.
